Product Description
Rapid HBsAg detection is an immunochromatography method for the
qualitative detection of Hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg)
in human serum, plasma, or whole blood samples.
The hepatitis B surface antigen test is used to diagnose hepatitis
B and test the infectivity of blood products. If the hepatitis B
virus is found, along with specific antibodies, it means the person
is infected. HBsAg is the most common test for hepatitis B. The
presence of HBsAg in the serum indicates that the patient is
infected with the hepatitis B virus.
In self-limiting infections, HBsAg is cleared within 4 to 6 months.
It can be detected in the blood during both acute and chronic
infections. In addition to the patient's signs and symptoms, other
antibodies can be tested to distinguish between acute and chronic
infections.
